Shezza Abboushi Dallal is a Staff Attorney with the Creating Law Enforcement Accountability & Responsibility (CLEAR) Project, which primarily aims to address the legal needs of Muslim and other communities nationwide that are particularly affected by so-called “national security” and “counterterrorism” policies and practices deployed by various law enforcement agencies.

Prior to joining CLEAR, Shezza was an appellate public defender at the Office of the Appellate Defender, where she provided holistic, client-centered representation to people convicted of felonies in Manhattan and the Bronx.

Shezza is a proud graduate of CUNY School of Law, where she was a Student Attorney in CLEAR’s clinic, and completed internships at the ACLU’s Human Rights Program, Palestine Legal, and the Federal Defenders for the Southern District of New York. Prior to attending law school, Shezza worked at the Urban Justice Center’s Safety Net Project of the Urban Justice Center as a Benefits Advocate, representing low-to-no-income New Yorkers encountering obstacles in accessing public benefits. Shezza also holds a degree from Barnard College.
